ALA Conference Kicks Off Sept. 10

Here's what attendees can expect during their trip

Next weekend, hundreds of industry leaders will gather in Lake Tahoe, Calif., for the 2023 ALA Conference. The industry event of the year brings together leaders from the top manufacturers, sales representatives, and showrooms across the U.S. and Canada for three days of networking, education, and fun.

For those headed to Conference, here are some handy tips to keep in mind as you prepare for your trip to Lake Tahoe.

What to Wear
Business casual. As with most resort event spaces, the meeting rooms may be chilly, so bring along a sweater or jacket if needed.

Weather Outlook
On average in early September, midday temperatures typically reach 75-77 degrees; however, mornings and evenings might be in the 50s.
Those participating in the Golf or Kayaking outings should wear sunscreen, due to the higher elevation.
Since the evening events on Sunday and Monday will be held largely outdoors, we recommend bringing a sweater or jacket to keep you comfortable.

Altitude Adjustment
We want everyone to relax and have fun while learning and networking at Conference. Lake Tahoe is 6,225 feet (approximately 1.2 miles) above sea level. While this may not be considered a “high” elevation, it may be higher than what you are used to at home. The Welcome Reception at High Camp is at 8,200 feet. We advise drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Parking Discount
All ALA member hotel guests will receive 50% off self-parking rates at the resort (not applicable for valet).
