Clark Linstone Inducted into ALA Lighting Hall of Fame

Ceremony took place at 2022 ALA Conference

The ALA Awards and Recognition Committee announced Clark Linstone, COO of Lamps Plus, as the 2022 inductee into the Lighting Hall of Fame. Linstone was honored on the evening of Sept. 13, 2022, during the ALA Conference at the Austin Marriott Downtown.

Linstone has long been an active member of ALA, working closely with professional staff and ALA committee member volunteers to support the association and the lighting industry. He has served on various ALA committees, including the Board of Governors from 2009 to 2014, serving as the chairman in 2014.

“I am so pleased that Clark has been inducted into the Lighting Hall of Fame,” said Eric Jacobson, ALA president and CEO. “Clark has given a great deal to the lighting industry and to ALA. On a personal level, he is a great friend, advisor, and mentor to me. Clark has always led with a servant’s heart and consistently makes decisions with the best interests of the entire industry in mind.”

One of his most notable industry and association impacts has been Linstone’s role in supporting ALA’s government engagement efforts. He currently serves as chair of the Government Engagement Committee and served as chair of the Political Action Committee in 2016.

In addition to those roles, Linstone also served as treasurer on the Board of Governors from 2009 to 2012; chair of the Membership Campaign Committee in 2001; and as a member of the Electronic Technology Committee since 2000.

Linstone has also been honored as an ALA Pillar of the Industry twice, recognizing his dedicated service on behalf of his fellow industry members. He is also an active supporter of the ALA Advertising and PR Program.

The Lighting Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have provided a lifetime of exceptional devotion to the industry, as well as to ALA. The selection criteria are based on an individual’s magnitude of success in the lighting industry, the number of years of service, the impact of their contributions on the industry and ALA, and their level of industry respect.
