UV light has been a common disinfectant for decades, used in various applications, such as water treatment, air purification, and surface decontamination. The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the importance of UV light for disinfection. However, due to the innovative efforts of UV-C manufacturers, the regulatory framework is still evolving. Some exisiting standards and products have been adapted to incorporate UV-C technologies, while new standards are being developed. This presentation aims to discuss the exisiting standards and their application to germicidal UV-C technologies, as well as provide information on recently published or upcoming standards.
