2019 Showroom of the Year Finalists Announced
Finalists for the 2019 Showroom of the Year Awards, honoring outstanding lighting retailers across North America, have been announced. The annual awards, now celebrating its 10th year, is co-sponsored by Furniture, Lighting & Decor magazine and Lightovation: Dallas International Lighting Show. Each year, showrooms are judged on a number of criteria, including merchandising display, marketing and advertising, customer service and engagement, employee education and motivation, and community involvement.
The finalists in all three categories — Revenue Under $2 Million, Revenue Under $5 Million and Revenue $5 Million and Over — will be profiled in Furniture, Lighting & Decor’s May issue. The winners will be announced at an evening reception during Lightovation at Dallas Market Center on June 19, 2019. More details will follow.

Awards will be presented in the three dollar-volume categories at the June 19 reception. All finalists will also be eligible for three specialty awards: Outstanding Merchandising Display, Exceptional Community Involvement and Social Media Star, an award that industry members help select on the Furniture, Lighting & Décor Facebook page.
Once again, 50 percent of the scoring for the Social Media Star Award will be determined by “likes” posted to finalist profiles within the Showroom of the Year Social Media Star Event on Furniture, Lighting & Decor’s Facebook page. Official judges’ scores complete the remaining 50 percent of scoring for that category. This voting event details are to come.
An accomplished panel of judges has been selected to judge the 10th year of this esteemed competition. David Avrin, the Visibility Coach, is an expert in marketing and the customer experience. He delivers a profoundly insightful and hard-hitting message to business audiences across North America and around the world. Brand and business strategist Jacqui Genow specializes in how the many pieces of the marketing puzzle fit together. She takes an unbiased approach to pinpointing the right mix of tools and tactics for businesses and their goals. Randall Whitehead, the Lighting Doctor known for his informational blogs and videos at Furniture, Lighting & Decor, is a professional lighting designer and author. He has worked on projects worldwide and appeared on the Discovery Channel, HGTV and CNN.
