Updated Residential Lighting Training Manual to be Released this Summer

This summer, ALA will release a fully revised version of the industry’s most comprehensive training document, the Residential Lighting Training Manual (RLTM). The RLTM serves as the industry’s core training manual and is the basis for earning the Lighting Specialist designation.

The all-in-one manual covers everything industry professionals need to know about lighting – from the physics of light and color to the technology of LEDs and dimming. In the revision, which was led by a team of dedicated ALA members and industry professionals, all chapters of content have been updated and revised.

The 2018 edition now features a special emphasis on LED lighting, dimming, controls and regulations.

Additionally, the manual now contains updated images, charts and graphs. Of key importance to the revision was a complete reorganization of the units to better fit in with today’s everchanging industry.

Finally, the sales training portion of the manual has been updated to encompass ALA’s new sales training series, which covers the basics of successful lighting sales.

The manual cost, which includes the fee for the Lighting Specialist exam, costs $349 for ALA Members. Details on purchasing the manual will be sent to all members as soon as it is available for purchase online at ALAMembers.com.
