ALA and Better Homes and Gardens Turn to Members to Discuss Top Trends

The ALA BiNational Advertising and PR Program’s film crew was on hand at the June 2017 Dallas Lightovation as Samantha Hart, Better Homes and Gardens senior editor, interviewed ALA manufacturers about top trends in lighting.          

 

Hart sat down with ALA members from Feiss, Hinkley Lighting, Kichler Lighting, LBL, Lutron Electronics Company, Monte Carlo Fans, Progress Lighting, Quoizel, Sea Gull Lighting, and Tech Lighting to discuss this year’s trends. This year, the manufacturer companies assisted the BH&G editors in developing trends that fit with what is selling most today. In addition to the videos, which will be released later this year, the BH&G team also assisted in developing a six-page advertorial piece on lighting trends, which will run in issues of Décor and Elegant Homes. In this piece, the editors highlighted four major trends that were prominent in this year’s issue of Lighting magazine, including mixed metals, modern statements, industrial inspired pieces and connected home products. Images from the manufacturers listed above are featured throughout the advertorial piece to demonstrate the trends. A Lighting Ideas spread is set to run in Beautiful Kitchens & Baths, Tuscan Style and Elegant Homes as well. Featured companies were chosen based on their purchase of the complete Lighting Magazine Promotional Package, which included a full-page advertisement in Lighting, along with a presence on BHG.com and other home design and remodeling magazines.
