Lighting for Tomorrow Competition Receives more than 130 Entries

The 15th annual Lighting for Tomorrow (LFT) competition took place at UL University in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., June 6-8. This year, LFT received more than 130 entries across all residential product types, including fixtures, replacement lamps, lighting controls, OLED, connected products, and ceiling fans. The connected lighting and ceiling fan categories were new additions to the 2017 competition, and received positive responses, from manufacturers. A panel of industry experts, including professionals representing lighting design, U.S. and Canadian showrooms, engineering, testing, and media, evaluated the innovative entries using a host of criteria related to energy efficiency, light quality, and consumer experience. Award winners and new trends seen among this year’s submissions will be announced publicly in September at the ALA Annual Conference in Vancouver.
