Conference Activities Raise $26,000 for ALA Education Foundation
During the ALA Conference in Lake Tahoe, Calif., Sept. 10-12, 2023, the association raised $26,000 for the ALA Education Foundation. The Education Foundation is a 501c3 organization, which supports the association’s training programs and funds key education initiatives.
In addition to making thousands of certifications and accreditations possible for ALA members, the Education Foundation funds scholarship opportunities for both members and students interested in joining the lighting industry. Most recently, the Foundation funded the complete revamp of the ALA Lighting Associate webinar program, and is currently supporting a full update of the Residential Lighting Training Manual, which is known to be the most comprehensive lighting training guide available in the industry.
All proceeds from the 2023 Conference golf tournament and a kayaking excursion on Lake Tahoe benefitted the Education Foundation. Additionally, tickets were sold for a raffle, which awarded a $1,000 grand prize and two $500 secondary prizes, sponsored by American Lighting, Inc.
