President's Letter - August 2021

ALA Conference

The ALA staff is excited to see members at the ALA Conference in Lake Tahoe, Sept. 26-28. ALA Conference Director Katie Grandel and I just got back from a planning session for our meeting and the resort and Lake Tahoe area are spectacularly beautiful. The photos in this email were taken during our trip.

We understand the continuing challenges facing the world, but believe the remote Lake Tahoe location will be an ideal spot for ALA members to reconnect.

To help defer some costs, ALA is reinstating the $100 registration discount for all members and will continue discounts to companies that send multiple delegates.

Showroom Scholarships

If you are a showroom member not currently registered, we want to help you get to the ALA Conference. ALA has scholarships available that will cover your registration costs and three nights stay at the conference hotel.

It is my goal that every showroom member wishing to attend ALA Conference is able to do so. If you are interested in this opportunity, please email me directly at Eric@ALALighting.com and our staff will start working on your scholarship application immediately.

These scholarships are provided by the support of ALA manufacturers. I am working with all ALA manufacturers to secure as many showroom scholarships as possible. If you are a manufacturer member and are interested in providing a showroom scholarship, please email me.

Grow Your Network

We consistently hear from ALA members that one of the most valuable things they get out of Conference is the opportunity to connect with leaders across the lighting industry. We have various opportunities throughout the event designed to facilitate communication among attendees in a fun, low-pressure environment. This year, attendees will enjoy an evening of lawn games hosted by ALA manufacturers at the beautiful Conference resort, as well as showroom and rep peer networking groups, a round-table discussion lunch, Women in Lighting and Young Executives events, and our opening and closing receptions.

As we continue to prepare for this event, we are in active communication with the Conference resort staff to ensure as safe an experience as possible for all Conference attendees.

We at ALA think of the lighting industry and our members as an extended family, and we truly believe in the value and opportunities Conference offers. Now more than ever, we must come together to continue to strengthen the industry and our members' businesses. Please contact me if I can be of any assistance to you in your registration process, or if you are interested in a showroom scholarship to attend the event.

Sincerely,
