ALA Launches Sales Training Courses

ALA announced the first three courses in a ten-part webinar series on sales training will be available to members by late January. The courses, created in partnership with the association and Mark Okun, LS, of Mark Okun Consulting, will cover basic sales training. Each webinar will present the fundamental and foundational information needed in the retail selling process for lighting showrooms.

 

The courses launching in January include:

 

Lesson 1: Success Mindset

The Salesperson’s Role in the 21st Century, it Starts with You

This course will cover:

  • Attitude
  • Personal appearance
  • Product knowledge
  • Sell yourself on the product
  • Enthusiasm in retail sales
  • Ethical selling
  • Goal setting
  • Tools

 

Lesson 2: Today’s Customer

Pre-selling: The Unseen Preparation Prior to Customer Engagement

This course will cover:

  • Consider the customer
  • What do you expect when you are a customer?
  • The value of every shopper
  • The mission of a retail sales person
  • Define excellent retail customer experience
  • The impact of the internet

 

Lesson 3: Consumer Driven Process

This course will cover:

  • Starting the sales process
  • Buyer personas and your persona
  • The importance of first impressions
  • How to create a good first impression

 

ALA members can purchase all three courses for $100, or individual courses for $39 each. The courses will be available for purchase through ALA’s member store in early 2017. Members will receive an email notification when the courses have officially launched.
