How LEDs are Transforming Interior Design

The shift toward LED light bulbs in interior design is happening quickly, as manufacturers and homeowners find more ways to use these new types of lighting inside common areas of homes.
LEDs come in a wide variety of hues and colors that can transform an ordinary bathroom into something that will give you an artistic experience when you get ready for work in the morning.

According to The Wall Street Journal, not only are LEDs extremely efficient and effective at reducing home electricity costs, but they are allowing light designers to get more creative with interior lighting. Instead of standard track lighting with incandescent bulbs, homeowners can now use LED light bars or undercabinet lighting to adjust to the exact color or mood of your desire.

Smaller Light Resources
Piero Gandini, chairman of Flos, a lighting design firm, said LEDs simply give more options than standard light resources.

"It's similar to what happened in the 80s, when halogen arrived," Gandini explained. "Everything became smaller. Design will be less and less about the fixture itself and more about the immaterial aspect of lighting."

The smaller light fixtures allow homeowners to get more creative with the space they have to use LED light bulbs. Light strips, bars and bulbs are all much smaller than standard incandescent light fixtures, which means they can be added in more parts of the home to create a whole new aesthetic or feel.

Changing Your Living Space With LEDs
According to Lushome, a home design company, living spaces have suddenly transformed with LED options. It gives residents the chance to use green technology more effectively throughout the home. LEDs can show off more detail to architectural structures in your home, such as the pitch of your ceiling or the shape of your home's mantelpiece.

LED light fixtures personalize homes and can go nearly anywhere. Lights can now transform an outdoor patio into a uniquely decorated design with the large amount of color and lighting options.

With LED pushing the boundaries of the way we think about home lighting, homeowners are also saving money with energy-efficient lighting. The options are almost limitless with LED light fixtures, and you can transform your home with a creative touch by using these new light resources.
