WIL's 2023 charity is Dress for Success, a global not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools to help women thrive in work and life. Each year WIL creates a pin recognizing its charity of choice. Pins are available for $20 each. Anyone can purchase them at each WIL social event held at the Lightovation Market in January and June. They are also available at the ALA Conference in September or until supplies last. All proceeds go to the designated charity. WIL want to thank Maxim Lighting for sponsoring the Dress for Success pin this year.
“The mission statement of Dress for Success truly aligns with the mission of ALA’s Women in Lighting group,” said Dawn Howard, area lighting specialist for Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery, who serves on the WIL Philanthropy Subcommittee. “Aside from fundraising for them with our popular collectible pins, there are other opportunities for us to work together because they are a worldwide organization with numerous local chapters, including in Dallas."
