2019 Conference Program Released
Event to Feature Seminars on Customer Experience, Retail Success and More
The 2019 ALA Conference program was released this April, with full details on all seminars and networking activities scheduled for Sept. 15 - 17 in Phoenix. This year’s event also features a variety of new opportunities designed to further enhance attendee experiences.
Targeted Education and Training
As one of the key aspects of Conference, the education and training throughout the event is designed to help attendees improve their bottom line, with a specific focus on next-level customer experience.
Keynote speaker Bob Phibbs, The Retail Doctor, will kick off the event with his opening address titled “You Can Compete: How to Win Against Your Online Competitors.” The presentation is designed around the seismic shift currently affecting the retail world. Phibbs’ message will focus not on fighting tech with tech, but rather on improving the in-person experiences that give brick-and-mortar stores real advantages. He will use his more than 25 years of experience transforming businesses, both big and small, into thriving retail operations to provide attendees the tools to succeed in a challenging retail market.
On Tuesday morning, Dean Minuto of Teligent Group will present “YESCALATE – Getting to ‘Yes’ Faster.” This sales and customer experience seminar will focus on the brain science and behavioral psychology that can be used to help attendees get to “yes” faster with anyone, anyplace and at any time. Minuto has been called The One Page Sales Coach for his unique ability to present concise summary courses for executives with single-sheet tools that they can use to immediately get to “yes” faster.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to hear from their peers on Monday afternoon during the business lunch with a presentation on channel challenges, successes and opportunities. A distinguished panel of seasoned lighting executives will share insights on how to be more competitive in today’s rapidly changing business environment. Attendees will hear first-hand experiences from their peers on topics ranging from selling on the internet to branding their businesses using targeted marketing and advertising.
This year’s event features a variety of new networking opportunities designed specifically to help attendees forge genuine, lasting connections with their peers. Whether a first-time attendee, or a seasoned conference veteran, these activities are intended to help all industry professionals come together in a low-pressure, high-reward environment.
On the opening day of conference, a unique, authentic networking activity with Luis Serrano of FUNdamentals of Play has been planned. This will focus on allowing attendees to connect through game play, helping to break down walls so participants can take part in authentic and impactful networking.
Connections at Conference are often made in the down time, where attendees can simply relax and talk with one another. This year, attendees will enjoy a new, manufacturer-hosted event at Top Golf.
